5:00 pm  - 8:00 pm

Elfreth’s Alley will host its ongoing First Friday “Bits & Bites of History Series” on October 6th from 5:00-8:00 pm. The evening will include a short discussions about when Elfreth’s Alley began to be noticed and viewed as a tourist destination both locally and nationally; as well as some of the various things that people have collected featuring Elfreth’s Alley’s image.  Local artist Lauren Lopez will be launching her own images of Elfreth’s Alley on her newly designed tea towels and prints.  This event will be accompanied by a cider tasting by our sponsor, Commonwealth Ciders.

Bits & Bites of History is an opportunity to visit the Elfreth’s House Museum and learn Bits of Philadelphia’s Social History and perhaps engage in a refreshment in a relaxed atmosphere during Old City District’s First Fridays.  Admission to the event is free.

Lauren Lopez is an illustrator and designer obsessed with local history and vintage maps . She received her BFA in illustration from the University of the Arts and worked for over a decade as a graphic designer in advertising and consumer products. After designing for big companies like Target and Comcast, Lauren realized she was most passionate about working with small businesses, non-profits and cultural institutions.

Commonwealth Ciders creates traditionally fermented hard apple ciders that defy the trends of modern cider making. Commonwealth Ciders are fermented dry.  In the process the natural apple sugars are converted to alcohol. No additional sweeteners, artificial flavors, preservatives or colors are added. The ciders are all natural & gluten-free.
