Trash Collection Schedule
New set-out time for the trash. From October
until April 1st, trash may be set out as early as
5:00 PM the day before pick-up.
Veterans’ Day is Monday, November 11th, and trash pick-up is pushed forward one day. Pickup
in Old City will be Saturday morning, November 16th. Put your trash out no earlier than 5:00
PM on Friday evening.
Thanksgiving is celebrated Thursday, November 28th. Trash will be picked up on Saturday
morning, November 30th. Put your trash out no earlier than 5:00 PM on Friday evening.
Effective December 1, the regulations for setting out mattresses and box springs will
also change by requiring residents to wrap those items in mattress covers in order to be collected.
Mattresses and box springs that are not properly wrapped will not be collected nor accepted at
our Sanitation Convenience Centers. Mattress bags are available at many retail stores and online.
Philly Bagged Leaf and Recycling Program Drive begins Monday, November 11 and
ends Friday, December 20
The program is a citywide effort to collect leaves placed curbside in biodegradable bags only, not
in plastic bags (leaves only – no other kinds of trash). Set leaf bags curbside next to trash and
recycling on your trash day.
Use as many bags as needed, maximum 40 lbs. each. The Streets Department does not provide
biodegradable bags. Residents may purchase them at their local home improvement stores.
Bagged leaves may also be taken to any of the three Sanitation Convenience Centers:
o3033 S. 63rd Street (63rd & Passyunk Ave.) o Domino Lane and Umbria Street
o State Road and Ashburner Street
