The Old City District lives up to its reputation as a cultural district as home to more than 50 art galleries. One of the Old City District's most recognized art events is First Friday. Among the city's most popular traditions, the arts community's "open house" brings together arts aficionados from the city, suburbs, and beyond on the first Friday of each month, rain or shine. The area is also home to First Saturday Gallery Tours, which offer a unique opportunity to learn about art directly from the source.
