Jacob learned the discipline of craft while double majoring at Alfred rnUniversity in Art and Philosophy. He scrambled his mind tracing the rntrajectories of contemporary European design as a Fulbright Scholar to rnthe Netherlands, and set off firecrackers at the SAIC while getting his rnMFA in Ceramics. He has exhibited, taught, and participated in artist rnresidences all over the world, promulgating the view of an expanded rnfield of ceramics that encompasses a 21st century conception of a rnmaterially engaged maker not beholden to a single medium.
The Zeldin Fellowship is generously supported by Sybille Zeldin, a former Resident Artist herself. The Fellowship is awarded to one incoming Resident a year and affords the artist a stipend and special exhibition at the culmination of the one year residency.
