Elfreth’s Alley hosts it's annual Holiday Open House, Deck the Alley on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Close to two dozen private historic homes will be open and decorated for the season. Guides and residents will provide information on the homes, many that date to the mid 1700s. Visitors can stroll the cobblestone streets while sampling authentic German selections from Brauhaus Schmidtz including traditional ciders and mulled wine. Sweet treats and cookies from Heck of a Cookie will also be served in the Museum House Garden.
Visitors will spot Santa Claus, hear the sounds of colonial carolers and watch traditional loom weaving as the street transforms into a winter wonderland under the glow of holiday lights. The Museum store will also have a selection of specialty items for purchase.
In addition, ticket holders to this event will have the opportunity to view “Making Christmas” a new pop up exhibition that will take visitors through a historic tour of German American Christmases Past.
Tickets are required. $25 per person with family rates available. Limited Tickets will be available day of. All proceeds raised from this event support the work of the Elfreth’s Alley Association and Museum.
