Elfreth’s Alley Hosts its August First Friday Program, Following Franklin’s Footsteps on the Alley
Elfreth’s Alley will continue to host its First Friday “Bits & Bites of History Series” on August 4th with an evening of Following Franklin’s Footsteps on the Alley , which will include discussions of Benjamin Franklin’s connections to Elfreth’s Alley as well as a beer tasting provided by Philadelphia’s Saint Benjamin Brewing Company.
Bits & Bites of History is an opportunity to visit the Elfreth’s House Museum and learn Bits of American Social History and perhaps engage in a refreshment in a relaxed atmosphere during Old City District’s First Fridays. Admission to the event is free and will run from 5 to 8 pm.
Guests will learn a few of the different ways that Benjamin Franklin has connections to Elfreth’s Alley, including 18th century technology he introduced to Philadelphia, from his travels in Europe, to his friendships with some early residents of the Alley.
