OCJAC Hosts Exhibit Trees of Life to Benefit the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh in Memory of the 11 Members Massacred on October 17, 2018
 Old City Jewish Art Center, 119 N 3rd St, Philadelphia, PA 19106 presents Trees of Life, a small group show featuring installation, paintings, photographs, sculpture and works on paper by Cynthia Back, Susan Benarcik, Frank DePietro, Linda Dubin Garfield and Amie Potsic January 4- 27, 2019.
There will be a reception on First Friday, January 4, 5- 9 PM followed by Shabbat dinner.
There is also a Tu B’Shevat* reception in collaboration with The Center for Art in Wood on Monday, January 14, 6- 8 Pm… starting at OCJAC and moving to The Center for Art in Wood. 
There will be a Closing Reception on Sunday, January 27, 2019, 2-4 PM
*We observe Tu B’ Shevat by eating fruit, particularly from the kinds that are singled out in the Torah in its praise of the bounty of the Holy Land: grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives and dates. On this day we remember that “Man is a tree of the field” (Deuteronomy 20: 19) and reflect on the lessons we can derive from our botanical analogue.
Gallery hours: Thursday and Friday 12 – 5 PM and Sunday from 12 – 4 PM or by appointment.
