The Betsy Ross House is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in November and Tuesday through Sunday in December.  The Betsy Ross House will offer special holiday-themed House tours, colonial chocolate making on Saturday, December 1 and a variety of seasonal activities on Saturdays and Sundays through the month, including musical performances and crafts for children.  Shop the Museum Store for unique holiday gift items, including a special commemorative ornament for collecting.  The House is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.  Admission to the Betsy Ross House is just $5 for adults and $4 for children, seniors and active military.  Upgrade to an audio tour, led by Betsy, herself, for just $2 more. Holiday programming in the courtyard, including colonial chocolate making, is free for all.

Santa’s Winter Wonderland

Santa’s Winter Wonderland is a family-fun, private photoshoot that creates vintage Santa photographs for families, children, couples, and pets in Philadelphia.

 

Create memories with an 18th-Century Santa Claus in the cobblestone world of Old City as we capture all the wholesome, "storybook" moments for you.

 

You are greeted at the studio by Christmas carolers, and once you enter the studio, learn the origins of Santa’s secret workshop from a storyteller, have the option of refreshments, and the chance to write a letter to Santa Claus at the writing table.

Visitors of all ages will enjoy the Museum’s special hands-on exhibit Hamilton Was Here: Rising Up in Revolutionary Philadelphia and can participate in festive “History in the Making” crafts, activities and demonstrations showcasing life in the Museum’s neighborhood during the 18th century.

Get Illuminated! Activity

Philadelphia artist and solider Charles Willson Peale painted scenes on thin fabric or glass which were then placed in windows and illuminated with candlelight from behind. On Saturdays and Sundays from Nov. 24 – Dec. 30, design your own dazzling window illumination to take home in the Museum’s Revolution Place discovery center.

Cross Keys Café

Cozy up in the Museum’s Cross Keys Café with a hearty chicken pot pie, creamy mac and cheese with a panko crunch, or another one of the café’s grab-and-go soups, salads, sandwiches, and colonial era-inspired dishes. And be sure to try one of the café’s hot seasonal beverages, like a mulled cider or a pumpkin latte. Café hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. More info here.

Hours

The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (6 p.m. from Dec. 26 – Dec. 30), except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The Museum will close at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Tickets are available for purchase online here or at the front desk. All activities are free with admission, unless otherwise indicated.
