The Women Who Worked: Businesswomen of Colonial Philadelphia
Celebrate the women whose work helped shape Colonial Philadelphia and the founding of our nation. In partnership with the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Betsy Ross House presents a special screening of three episodes from For the Common Good: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation highlighting pioneering businesswomen, inventors, and entrepreneurs.
Featured are Hannah Sharp Breintnall, proprietor of the "Sign of the Golden Spectacles"; inventor Sybilla Righton Masters, the first American colonist granted an English patent; and healer and importer Elizabeth Coates Paschall. Following the screening, meet Betsy Ross and 18 century chocolate maker and business owner,Mary Crathorn.
