Dual Heritage Month Celebration (Family Day)
CELEBRATE THE BEAUTY OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY THROUGH FAMILY-FOCUSED ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCES
Experience a FREE multicultural family celebration at The Weitzman on May 18th in partnership with American Jewish Committee (AJC) and Pennsylvania Asian Pacific American Jewish Alliance (PAPAJA)! Celebrate Jewish American and Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with music, dance, crafts, workshops, and tours. Engage all ages in a vibrant fusion of cultures. Bring your family, bring your friends, and join the celebration of unity in diversity at The Weitzman Museum on May 18th. Together, let’s create memories that bridge cultures and ignite curiosity!
1 – 5 PM Diverse Asian Pacific and Jewish cultural folk activities including community artists, crafting games, printmaking, martial arts, Asian face and hand painting, Jewish calligraphy, ancient musical instruments, traditional drum mini-workshops, Asian traditional dress try-on experience, and more!
1 – 1:30 PM Opening Ceremony with an Interfaith Prayer for Peace.
1:30 – 2:30 PM Eagles Cheerleading Workshop with Elana Horowitz and a few of her fellow teammates
2 – 3 PM Performances include a variety of Asian Pacific traditional dances and music
2:45 – 3:30 Interactive Musical Performance with Sounds of Twilight, a Hebrew, Ukrainian and Russian band
3:45 PM Perelman Jewish Day School Choir performance
4 – 4:45 PM Rak-Dan Entertainment leading a Dual Dance Extravaganza including a communal hora
