International Design Series: The Preservation of Old Havana, the Legacy of Eusebio Leal David Ramírez Álvarez

This presentation will explore the remarkable transformation of Old Havana, Cuba, through the vision and leadership of Eusebio Leal, the city’s historian. It will examine how Leal’s restoration projects preserved the architectural and cultural heritage of Havana while revitalizing its urban life. Through an analysis of key conservation initiatives, community engagement and sustainable tourism strategies, it will also highlight how Leal’s legacy continues to shape the identity and preservation of one of the world’s most vibrant historic centers.
