Museum for Art in Wood presents A Concert with Mid East Ensemble

Join the Museum for Art in Wood for a captivating and immersive musical experience featuring Philadelphia's renowned Mid East Ensemble! Comprised of the region's most talented Middle Eastern musicians and dancers, the Mid East Ensemble presents energetic performances with a diverse array of instruments accompanied by vibrant dance traditions, including belly dance and debka, a folk dance from the Levantine and Anatolian regions. The Ensemble traces its origins back to the early 1990s, when it emerged from the iconic Middle East Restaurant, a cherished Old City establishment owned by the Tayoun family—whose sons perform in the Ensemble—that celebrated Middle Eastern music, culture, and cuisine for over four decades.

This event, which takes place in the midst of the Museum’s exhibition The Mashrabiya Project, promises an extraordinary fusion of art, music, dance, and cultural heritage.
