The Wild Flowers of Mary Vaux Walcott

Join us for a free pop up exhibit of the wild flower drawings of Mary Vaux Walcott.

Mary Walcott's beautiful and accurate drawings of wild flowers are a delightful combination of art and science. Walcott published a five-volume set of her drawings of North American wild flowers, between 1925 and 1928, with proceeds going to the Smithsonian's endowment. Walcott's work was instrumental in the development of a new technique for printing which came to be known as the Smithsonian Process.
