Destruction and rebuilding: An Art Exhibition

Old City Jewish Art Center is pleased to announce a group July Art Exhibition, opening First Friday, July 7th, with an artist reception from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. This exhibition will explore ending and beginning, destruction and rebuilding, grief and resilience. Artists were encouraged to approach the topic broadly and work in all media.
Tisha B’av, The 9th of Av is the saddest day of the entire Jewish calendar, It commemorates the tragic events memorialized in the Book of Lamentations, particularly the destruction of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, twice on that same date, and the exile of the Jewish people. To this day, the Jewish people yearns for the time when the third holy Temple will be rebuilt.

All are invited to a complementary Shabbat meal at 9:00 PM.
