Historic District Tour with Guiding Basics
As part of its 2025 Fall Training Program, "19th Century Growing Pains or We The People... Now What?", the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides (APT) is offering an Historic District Tour with Guiding Basics (https://phillyguides.org/event/historic-district-tour-with-guiding-basi…) on Saturday, November 15 from 2-4 pm, beginning and ending near the Independence Visitor Center.
Vince McCafferty, APT Director-at-Large and certified tour guide with Grim Philly and Independence Historical Trust, will lead a special tour for newer guides – colonial, Revolutionary, and founding of the country content that most guides give on tour in the historic district coupled with explanations – in real time – of guiding techniques for managing a group out and about in the city. This is a must for anyone new to guiding or anyone who wants the basics of Philadelphia history to wow family and friends who visit!

The full package of a possible 9 events PLUS a full day bus tour to Fairmount Park is ($100 member/ $150 non-member), or you may prefer to choose individual tour or lecture events ($15 member/$25 non-member) with or without the full bus day ($50/$70).
