First Friday, June 5th @ Arch Enemy Arts
Join Arch Enemy Arts on First Friday, June 5th for the opening reception of four new solo exhibitions by Briana Hertzog, Drew Caines, Richard Ahnert, and Sad Salesman, opening alongside ‘Common Waters: One Ocean Many Voices,’ a charitable group exhibition featuring over 50 new artworks inspired by the sea and benefiting PangeaSeed, the nation’s only arts-based ocean advocacy organization.
FEAST is a new series of paintings by Virginia-based pop-surrealist, Briana Hertzog merge human, animal, and botanical forms gathering around personified fruits and vegetables, exploring the word ‘feast’ as something indulgent and playful, edged with the tension of predator and prey. 6/6/26 - 6/28/26
ENGLISH DREAMTIME is England-based ceramicist Drew Caines’ first solo collection with Arch Enemy Arts and features a playful little pantheon of British folk spirits drawing from medieval grotesques, mumming traditions, church gargoyles, and pagan goddesses. Freshly excavated yet totally alive, the collection satisfies our thirst for folk horror through objects that are cute, contemporary, and highly collectible. 5/22/26 - 6/14/26
CONNECTIONS is Richard Ahnert’s fourth solo exhibition with the gallery and features the artist’s signature luminous, naturalistic paintings of anthropomorphic characters caught in intimate moments of contemporary life. According to the artist, “The work reflects on moments of solitude, curiosity, companionship, and conflict, revealing how connection is often shaped as much by division as by unity.” 6/6/26 - 6/28/26
PREHISTORIC! by Sad Salesman is a new collection of instantly charming original characters inspired by the earliest events and animals on earth. The bulk of the series include delightful little bugs suspended in glowing amber-like domes, many of whom were caught and fossilized while behaving badly. 5/22/26 - 6/14/26
