New Old City Businesses Open in 2022

Old City District is excited to welcome new shops, restaurants, a grocery store, and a museum to the neighborhood this spring.

PHILADELPHIA - Old City District is excited to welcome new businesses and organizations to the neighborhood in 2022, with more scheduled to open this year.

In 2021, Old City welcomed 31 new businesses to the neighborhood.

In addition, Bonejour is rebranding to ANIMA Natural Pet Products in an effort to show continued serious focus on preventative health and nutrition for both DOGS and CATS. This name change shows equal focus on dog and cat customers.

On the heels of the launch of her debut bridal line, Sposa, in November 2021, Bianca De Pietro, acclaimed couture designer behind the Atelier Bianca brand and owner of Philadelphia boutique Toile, is growing her business to include a pop-up showroom, featuring gowns from the debut collection, made-to-order pieces, customizable accessories, and more.

When brides-to-be enter the retail space, located at 234 Arch Street, they’ll be greeted with displays of unique bridal accessories, such as belts, veils, capes, caplets, and more, plus jewelry from local designers Nuance and Vannucci. De Pietro will also be offering customizable jewelry to create one-of-a-kind finishing touches. Additionally, for the first time, brides can browse and try on samples from Atelier Bianca Sposa, De Pietro's stunning 13-piece debut collection boasting enchanting gowns with interchangeable looks all designed with the uniqueness of each bride in mind. 
 
The pop-up shop will be appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled at [email protected] or 267.587.7221. De Pietro will be offering consultations on bridal wear, as well as fitting and alteration appointments for bridal gowns, but also custom evening wear and bridesmaid dresses.

With more than 80 exhibits featuring holograms, stereograms, and optical illusions, visitors will learn about vision, perception, and the human brain and experience firsthand the science of how the eyes can trick the mind.

The museum will be open from 10 A.M. to 9 P.M from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, the museum will be open from 10 A.M to 10 P.M. On Saturday, hours of operation are from 9 A.M to 10 P.M. Lastly, on Sunday, the museum is open from 9 A.M to 9 P.M. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of their visit.
